Bishop M.D. Eppright is first and foremost a loyal and faithful servant of God, the church and God’s

people. He is the Pastor of Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ located in West Des Moines, Iowa

(affectionally known as “The Miracle On 9th Street”) and serves as the Superintendent of the E.A. Tindrell

Sr. District. He is the husband of 50+ years to Mother Sandra D. Eppright, the former Jurisdictional

Supervisor of Women. He is an outstanding father to Marion D. Eppright II, Kenny Oakley, Tonia Smith,

Stacey Eppright, and Inta Sanford, beloved brother, exceptional uncle, and appreciated grandfather and

great grandfather.

Since accepting the call God placed upon his life in 1971, Bishop M.D. Eppright has held numerous

positions within the Church of God in Christ at the district, jurisdictional and national level. He is an

outstanding leader and builder of people. He established the Hurley Bassett, Sr. Leadership Institute as

well as two Districts within the state of Iowa, the Hurley Bassett Sr. and the E.A. Tindrell Sr. District. He

was the first National Adjutant for the Iowa Jurisdiction and previously served as a National Adjutant

Overseer.

Bishop M.D Eppright has always been committed to education, community empowerment and serving

others. He is a long-standing member of the Des Moines, West Des Moines and surrounding communities. In 2021, Bishop M.D Eppright & Mother Sandra Eppright were crowned King and Queen of Iowa Juneteenth, where they join the honorable men and women who came before them in becoming a

part of Iowa’s History. Bishop M.D. Eppright earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and master’s degree in Counseling and Personnel Supervision from Drake University. He served as Vice Principle at Edmunds Academy of Fine Arts in Des Moines, Iowa. He is currently semi-retired and serves as a Driver’s Education Instructor and Chaplain for the West Des Moines Police Dept.

In 2019, Bishop M.D. Eppright was consecrated to the Bishopric by Emeritus Bishop Charles Blake, Sr.

and faithfully serves under the leadership of Bishop Leroy F. Johnson Jr., Prelate of the Iowa Jurisdiction.
